Spring Hollow Snapshots

Arica asked me to take some family photos with the fall leaves.  We started so late in the day and it was threatening to rain.  The wind was a bit breezy and I didn't think we had a chance to get any pictures.  But we lucked out in more ways than one.  Garrett cooperated at the beginning with getting some "cheesey" photos, but after the first few minutes.....he was way more interested in "running, throwing, picking, and exploring" than smiling for the camera.  In fact, he wouldn't hardly give me the time of day and would turn and run the other way as soon as my eye found the viewfinder. Cute as a bug, but definitely a stinker sometimes.

Here are some of the best of the lucky ones...

Say "Cheese"....

Hey...what's over there?

Garrett has learned how to fold his arms and clasp his hands...
the last quiet moment of the night...

Run, Run, Run!!!

Want to hold my hand?....OK...just for a minute.
Garrett has such a great smile...especially when he is playing with Dad.
Mom is having just as much fun watching.

Hey, I can see you under here...peek a boo is favorite game.
We found a caterpillar in the weeds.  Garrett wasn't too sure he wanted to see it up close.  But Mom convinced him it was ok....he petted it "soft, soft".  He is a lover of animals.

Garrett really didn't want to hold still for very long.  This was the typical face for every picture.

"Hey, this is fun..."  Garrett loved the water and thought it was very fun to dangle
and see if he could touch it with his feet.  He's all about the adventure.
Garrett was curious about everything.  He was trying to see where the small stream was headed under the bridge.  Arica and Jordan joined in the fun.
I'm sure Garrett was wondering how far we would let him go before coming after him.

Such a cute boy...and I loved his sweater.
He's such a quick runner that I had a hard time capturing him on camera.

Walking across the log with a little parental help.

After running, throwing rocks, and chasing around, we finally got Garrett to sit for one family photo....no smile, but holding still long enough to use the flash...I mostly had to have the camera set for action shots and rapid sequence.  What a cute family.

Heading to the car...the torture is over...

An English Bonfire Night

Our good friends, Kris and Mike, celebrate an England tradition and have a Guy Fawkes Bonfire Night each fall in their backyard. Kris invited Nathan and I to be judges for the pie contest this year. I offered to bring a pie to the party....a huckleberry one. We were promptly demoted from the judge seat to lowly attendee and were told to bring the pie! No problem for us. We were just happy to be invited at all! Thanks Kris and Mike for a fun evening.
