Flora and Fauna plus a Dragonfly

I tried out my new camera today. Inspired by my creative friends (who are all semi professional photographers), I want to have a "Photo of the Day" area on this blog. But for now, you get to see all the photos that I felt were worthy to share....my engineer/tech guru husband is amazed at the pixals and sharpness of the end product not necessarily my detail to composition or finesse at capturing nature at dawn's first rays. But I was in awe of the beauty of the flowers and the light's ever changing pattern. Water droplets seemed to be delicate reflectors of the sun's warmth. And then... flashes of light, sudden and unexplained, that turned into silver wings of a dozen dragonflies as they flocked to the sticky sweetness that promised an early morning meal. Suspended on a leaf, the intricate design of their molten wings seem to mock my lense as I tried to capture the essence of their glistening acrobatics in still-life. So yes, if it were my last day today...I was happy to spend a little time admiring God's work and sharing it with you.

This picture doesn't show the detail of the wings. Go to my Picassa album to see a better view of all these photos.

62 Quail Hollow....Our Home

When we moved to Quail Hollow, we had six people and 1 cat. The numbers didn't match and we had to add 1 more cat....that's not really why, but....62 seems to be our number for now. We have added four more people to our family in the last few years. We plan to add one more in September to our growing group. Of course, this story first started with a race between a Jaguar and a station wagon that sparked a date on the ski slopes at Sundance.
